Each microsporocyte ( a microspore mother cell ) undergoes meiosis, forming four haploid microspores, each of which can eventually develop into a pollen grain. Pollen grains or the male gametes are formed in higher group of plants or which are termed as Spermatophytes i.e Gymnosperms and Angiosperms.
