In the Story, '' The adventures of Toto '' I liked the character of Grandfather. He was much caring and responsible person in the story.

He has beautifully explained the physical appearance of Toto. Even though Grandma was against of keeping any pet then also, Grandfather decided that Toto's presence should be kept a secret from her until she was in a particularly good temper.

As Grandfather was a pet lover. He had many other pets lived very socially together. They were - A pair of rabbits, a squirrel, goat, a tortoise etc.

Grandfather was much concerned for Toto as he was very naughty and irritating pet. While travelling to Dehra Dun, he decided to take him along. This shows that Grandfather was aware about the misbehaviour of Toto with the other pets.

Grandfather provided a comfortable home in the stable and provided everything for him. He also got warm water for bath in the winters.

Grandfather kept him as a member of the family. But due to his misbehaviour with the Grandma and the habit of throwing the food items here and there forced him to go back to the tonga - driver and sold him for only three rupees.

Grandfather was very sensitive, caring and responsible person.
