Pyrogallol is an organic compound. Its formula is C6H3(OH)3. It is a white solid. It has a sensitivity towards oxygen. In an alkaline solution, it absorbs oxygen from the air, and turns brown.

Some scientists at Southern University has synthesized a new chemical that can absorb oxygen from atmosphere. It is in crystalline form. It fills its crystals with oxygen and have the ability to release it back again. It has mainly Cobalt in it
