Algal chemical compounds have taxonomic importance.

• Algal taxonomy is an important discipline in phycology and is essential for algal genetics, composition, ecology, applied phycology, and chiefly bioassessment.

• Taxonomic identification is the most shared analysis and hypothesis-testing attempt in science.

• The algae have chlorophyll and can produce their own food through the method of photosynthesis. Recently they are categorized in the kingdom of protists, which include a variety of unicellular and some modest multinuclear and multicellular eukaryotic organisms that have cells along with membrane-bound nucleus.
