When bolus(masticated food) enters stomach through gastro-Oesphagal spincter . HCL is released (ph-1.2) (Highly acidic) which softens the food and kills the bacteria and activates the inactive Enzyme i.e. Pespsinogen to active form Pepsin which aids in digestion of proteins and also there is another enzyme called Lipase which digests lipids in stomach about 20%...So mainly there is digestion of proteins in stomach and a very small amount of lipids.
