In a Class Three Lever, the Effort is between the Load and the Fulcrum. If the Effort is closer to the Load, it would be easier to lift .A fishing rod is an example of a Class Three Lever.

The mechanical advantage of a class three lever is always less than 1. For class three levers, the input effort is higher than the output load, which is different from other levers.. However, the distance moved by the load is greater than the distance moved by the effort.

Third class levers don't multiply force they multiply distance. MA = Input Distance/Output Distance .
