During summer season the northeast trade winds prevail over the country. some amount of rainfall occurs in the Tamil Nadu coast. 
The south east trade winds are attracted  during the rainy season.  They bring abundant moisture. they cause heavy rainfall in the western ghats. the deccan plateau and parts of Madhya Pradesh receive some amount of rain.
