Answer:

we prefer Parallel for home circuit.

Explanation:

1)Voltage across each appliance is same.

2)If one appliance gets damaged, the other works properly.

3)Each appliance can be operated with different current and different switches.

Resistance in parallel is 1/Rp= 1/R2 +1/R3

as per diagram.

so, 1/24 + 1/8

= 4/24 = 1/6

Rp = 6 ohm

Resistance in series = R1 + Rp

= 4+6 = 10ohm

To find current as voltage is given,

I= V/R.

= 30/10

= 3 ampere.

Answer:

I prefer parallel combination for domestic purpose:-

1. Each apliances can be controlled separately.

2. If any one apliances stop then do not effect the other so.

3. Electric current to be supplied is not same to all appliances.

For 1st box:- 1/R= 4/24

R2 = 6ohm ----(1)

Now, R1 + R2 = 4ohm + 6ohm

= 10ohm ans.
