Hi I think the BODMAS concept will help you.
It is the order in which you should do mathematical operations.
B (Brackets)
O ( Order)
D (Division)
M (Multiplication)
A (Addition)
S (Subtraction)
For example,
$\frac{ {2}^{2} \times (3 - (1 + 1))}{2}$


In above finish operations in brackets first.
Inside brackets, there is addition and subtraction. According to above rule, finish addition first....
in this way if you proceed your answer will be equal to 2.
