Type command is used to see the contents of the file.
- Type command is a command prompt command which is used to display the content of a file.
- We cannot change or modify this content as the type command is a read-only command.
- Its syntax is TYPE [d:][path]filename.
- The filename should not contain wild card characters such as ? and * .
- If the file contains special characters then these characters may have an uncertain effect on the display.
