Equivalent Hybridisation
Equivalent hybridization is a type of hybridization in which all hybrid orbitals are of same shape, size and energy. All bond angles are same. Example:- sp hybridisation, sp2 hybridisation, sp3 hybridisation etc.
In sp3 hybridisation (Example methane CH4), four sp3 hybrid orbitals having
- Same Shape (Tetrahedral)
- Same Size
- Same Energy
- Same Bond Angle (109o28′)
