Answer:

The following compound is called as phthalic anhydride.

Since, the compound in which there are two carboxylic groups attached at Ortho positions to each other in a Benzene ring is named as Phthalic acid.

And because here, due to further condensation the water molecule has been eliminated taking away the acidic hydrogen atoms of both the groups and forming the compound known as the anydride of the corresponding acid and hence it's named as Phthalic anydride.
