conditions are as follows :

1. contact of the object in motion to the surface of earth. the less the friction , there is more the stopping distance of the object.

2. appliying the unbalanced force on it while stopping. if the unbalanced force is less than the object's velocity , there is more stopping distance.

3. gravity of the earth.

4. slow decrease of acceleration.

i hope this answer is satisfactory.

thank you.

zainabthahira: which condition of the road?
mandarpatil3636: in the question, you didnt asked for a car. it can be any moving object. for example as a ball.

The last factor than determines the total stopping distance is the cars braking capability which depends on factors such as;

the type of braking system,

brake pad material,

brake alignment,

tyre pressures,

tyre tread and grip,

vehicle weight,

suspension system,

the co-efficient of friction of the road surface,
