Antarctica is the southernmost continent and it is in 1820 the man first set his foot in this region. It is uninhabited continent. The people living in this continent are those belonging to research groups of different countries.

It is the continent that has lowest human population. The population is around 4000 in summer and 1000 in winter. This population is constituted by research teams of various countries. About 30 countries maintain about seventy research stations in Antarctica.
