We often hear that zero was invented by Indians, but it was invented independently by Babylonians, Mayans and Indians.

Some say that it was invented by Aryabhatta, but zero was used by Brahmagupta not Aryabhatta.

So in the end it can be concluded that the inventor or the place of origin of zero can't be tracked down.
