The tradition of inviting foreign leaders to Republic day parade can be tress back to 1950s. The first foreign chief guest to Republic day parade in 1950 was President Sukarno of Indonesia . The countries having guest of honour are as follows :
1.Five times :- France. 2.Four times :- Bhutan 3.three times:-Mauritius , Russia/USSR 4.two times :-Brazil , Indonesia , Nepal , Sri Lanka , UK , Nigeria , Pakistan 5.one time :- Many countries including USA , Australia , Japan , Saudi Arabia, Iran , Thailand , China , Argentina , Peru, South Korea , Spain ,South Africa , UAE etc
