The Special Committee on the Situation concerning the Implementation of the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples (otherwise called the Special Committee on decolonization or C-24).
The United Nations element only dedicated to the issue of decolonization, was set up in 1961 by the General Assembly with the reason for checking the execution of the Declaration (General Assembly Resolution 1514 (XV) of 14 December 1960).
