Arakan, a coastal region to the east of Burma was the country which was won by Burmese in 1784 under the regime of Burmese king Bodawapaya of  Kunbaung dyansty. He sent his royal soldiers under the command of his son Thado Minsaw who defeated the Arakun ruler, looted its treasury and annexed and made Arakan a province of Burma which made her borders contiguous with British India.
