Which course of study does taplow prefer and why

Taplow is a boy of sixteen who is extremely interested in science. He does not like learning Greek and Latin. He feels science is far more exciting than learning Greek. Besides, he has a natural aptitude for science. For all the above mentioned reasons, Taplow prefers to take up science after getting his remove.
