Akshay Urja Din or Akshay Urja Diwas is celebrated every year on August 20 since 2004 in India.
This awareness campaign was initiated by the Indian Ministry for New & Renewable Energy Sources. The campaign aims at raising an awareness among Indians about the development made regarding renewable energy.
The project was launched in New Delhi in 2004. The campaign was held next year as well in the same city. In the next three years, the campaign took place in the cities of Nagpur, Hyderabad and Panchkula (Haryana) respectively.
