Akshay Urja Diwas or Akshay Urja Din is celebrated in India every year on August 20 since 2004.

This is an awareness campaign initiated by the Indian Ministry for New & Renewable Energy Sources. The campaign is intended to raise an awareness among Indians about the developments made regarding renewable energy in the country.

The project kick started in New Delhi in 2004. The campaign was held in the same city the following year as well. In 2006, 2007 and 2008, the campaign took place in Nagpur, Hyderabad and Panchkula (Haryana) respectively.
