Which detectors is used for the measurement of energy?

Silicon detectors are good for X-rays up to about 20 keV inenergy. Germanium detectorscan be used to measure energyover the range of >10 keV to a few MeV. Such detectors have applications in environmental radiation and trace elementmeasurements.
