Salivary amylase is the digestive juice which acts only on carbohydrates approximately 30% of carbohydrates is digested by it in mouth rest are in small intestine and pancreas with help of pancreatic juices

The digestion of carbohydrates takes place in mouth and small intestine. the saliva secreted by the saliavary galnds digests the carbohydrates upto 30% in mouth.T he remaining carbohydrates gets digested in the small intestine by the pancreatic juice.
