The atoms have an internal structure which are made of protons, electrons and neutrons.
Electrons were first discovered by British physicist JJ Thomson.
Thereafter Ernest Rutherford discovered that there must be positive charges too, which are called protons.
He also demonstrated the existence of a dense nucleus within the atom.
