A holiday has been declared for schools and colleges in Thanjavur district on Wednesday following heavy rains, according to Collector M.S. Shanmugam. The examinations scheduled for Wednesday will be held later.

Nagapattinam

All the schools in the district will remain closed on Wednesday (December 16) due to the continuous heavy downpour.

According to a press release from Collector C. Munianathan the examinations scheduled for Wednesday have been postponed to January 5, 2010.

Tiruvarur

Schools will remain closed on Wednesday in Tiruvarur district in view of the heavy rain, said a press release issued by M. Chandrasekaran, Collector on Tuesday. Schools in the district remained closed on Tuesday.
