mitosis , also called equational cell division . amount of DNA duplicates during S phase and at the time of Anaphase the chromatids of chromosomes separate(not the homologous chromosomes as in meiosis ).These separated chromatids become the chromosomes of the daughter cell.after telophase and cytokinesis the 2 daughter cells formed retain the same chromosome number

⭐. Because mitosis results in the production of diploid daughter cells with genetic employment usually identical to that of the parent cell.

⭐. Mitosis maintains a constant number of chromosomes in all the cells of the body.

⭐. Mitosis helps in wounding healing and regeneration of plants parts.

⭐. The daughter cells formed by mitosis are identical with the mother cell.

⭐. Growth in organism is caused by mitosis and it restores the surface ro volume ratio of the cell.
