The fuse wire in electric circuit works on the principle of heating effect of electric current.
A fuse wire is generally made of an alloy of lead ( Pb ) and Tin (Sn). This alloy has a low melting point.
So, whenever a high amount of current comes through a circuit the fuse wire gets heated up and melts itself and stops the current.
