Radioactive element emit radiation spontaneously.

Radioactive decay is the process where nucleus spontaneously emits radiations which cost it's mass. The emitted particles are alpha, beta and gamma rays alongwith products, which are elements.

Process of radioactive decay has been used by humans for various purposes. Fusion and fission are the two types of radioactive processes. Example of radioactive element is uranium.
