Endocrine glands are glands that secrete hormones, which are essential to control other parts of the body, directly into the blood.

The endocrine gland that is not paired with any other gland is the Pituitary gland which produces hormones that are important for growth and metabolism.

The Pituitary gland is found at the base of the brain, below the hypothalamus.
