yea
hydro energy can be obtained in more amount but thermal you cant obtain that much
and thermal energy dosent produce that amount of energy

The word Thermal means Heat related. In thermal power plant, hot steam is generated in Boilers. That steam(heat) is used to run the turbine. This turbine will act as prime mover for Generator.
The word Hydro means water related. In hydro power plant, Water through the reservoir/Dam is used to run the turbine. This turbine will act as prime mover for Generator.
