Heat energy is used to cook food.

  • A substance which has a considerably higher temperature can transfer energy in the form of heat to a substance with a considerably lower temperature. When heat is added to it, a substance's internal temperature rises. The net thermal energy of a system is thus referred to as heat.
  • Atoms, ions, and molecules moving through solids, gases, and liquids cause the release of heat energy. Due to the difference of temperature between the two systems, heat can move from one system to another.
  • Fuel combustion helps in the production of heat energy. Fuel is a combustible material that contains energy and releases energy when burned. Common fuels include wood, coal, kerosene, gasoline, diesel, oil, and charcoal.
  • When gas is burned on a certain stovetop, heat energy is produced. Any object positioned above the stove acts as a source of energy for cooking.

Hence, heat energy is used to cook food.
