Protein is digested by pepsin that is a proteolytic enzymes that is produced by mucosa lignin of stomach
For your knowledge :- Pepsin is present in inactive form called pepsinogen that gets converted in pepsin by acidic environment of stomach (hcl) and split protein into proteoses and peptones
