Non sense mutation is a type of mutation in which sense codon is changes to a chain terminating codon.
A non-sense mutation in Lac Y gene will lead to the production of non-functional permease. Due to this mutation a stop codon will be introduced in the sequence after lac Z gene.
So due to a non-sense mutation in the Lac Y gene only Beta-galactosidases enezyme will be produced.
