Silver Chloride and Silver Bromide are the two compunds that can be used in black and white photography. Both Chlorine and Bromine are photosensitive non-metals and are hence used in b/w photography.

The equations are : AgCl —(sunlight)—> Ag + Cl

AgBr —(sunlight)—> Ag + Br
