Given :  a line that passes through (2, -1/2)  and has a slope of  3

To Find : Equation of Line

Solution:

A line with slope m passing through ( x₁ , y₁) with slope m

has Equation of line

(y - y₁) = m(x - x₁)

m = 3

x₁ = 2

y₁ = -1/2

y - (-1/2) = 3(x - 2)

=> y + 1/2  = 3(x - 2)

=> 2y + 1  = 6(x - 2)

=> 2y + 1 = 6x - 12

=> 6x - 2y  = 13

6x - 2y  = 13 is the Equation of Line

y + 1/2  = 3(x-2)
