Given :  a circle whose center is at (0, 0) and has diameter of 6cm

To Find : Which equation will satisfy

A. x²+ y² = 3

B.  x²+ y²  = 6

C.  x²+ y²  = 9

D.  x²+ y²  = 12

Solution:

Equation of circle center (h , k) and radius r is given by

( x - h)² + (y - k)² = r²

Center ( 0 , 0)

h = 0

k = 0

Diameter = 6 cm

radius = diameter/2

=> radius = 6/2 = 3 cm

r = 3

equation will satisfy the condition of a circle whose center is at (0, 0) and has diameter of 6cm

(x - 0)² + (y - 0)² = 3²

=> x² + y²  = 9

x² + y²  = 9 is the correct Equation
