Given :

5y = 20

76 = d + 4

x - 3 = 17

b - 13 = 26

h + 2 = 54

z + 9 = 1

To Find : Which equations would you use the subtraction property of equality to solve?

Solution:

5y = 20

Division property of equality to be used as need to divide by 5 both sides to solve

=> y = 4

76 = d + 4

subtraction property of equality to be used to solve

Subtract 4 from both sides

=> 72 = d

x - 3 = 17

Addition property of equality to be used to solve

Add 3  on both sides

=>  x= 20

b - 13 = 26

Addition property of equality to be used to solve

Add 13  on both sides

=> b = 39

h + 2 = 54

subtraction property of equality to be used to solve

Subtract 2 from both sides

=> h = 52

z + 9 = 1

subtraction property of equality to be used to solve

Subtract 9 from both sides

=> z = -8

subtraction property of equality to be used to solve for below equation.

76 = d + 4

h + 2 = 54

z + 9 = 1
