third estate was very poor, because they where required to pay taxes and 1st and 2nd where not requried. under French monarchy

1they had to pay tax to priests of the church and another to the state. the burden of financing activities of the state through taxes was borne by the third state alone.. this was injustice for them. they want freedom ,equality, and fraternity .
