The event that increased the water content in Earth’s atmosphere is

2. Water evaporated and condensed to form oceans.

Due to the heat of the sun, water from the surface of water bodies evaporate and form water vapor and they rise up.

After reaching the higher levels of the atmosphere they condense and form clouds which burst and fall as rain.

The rainwater replenishes the lost water of the atmosphere and increases the water content of the atmosphere.
