The light phase of photosynthesis follows a series of reactions which can be said as Splitting of water, Release of oxygen, Formation of high energy chemical intermediates. Before the splitting of water the photon molecules of light energy transforms the chlorophyll into exited state from ground state by passing a electron pair to the higher orbital.
Thus from the above mentioned information one can clearly conclude that Light energy is captured by plants and light energy is converted to chemical energy i.e option (D) is the correct answer.
