which exercise did the clock advise to the poet
Answers
The Gymnastic Clock by M.C. Davis is a humorous poem. The poet says the little clock in his room is his friend. the clock asks him frankly each morning to do exercise by stretching your arms above his head and then bring them down very slowly. He further asks him to keep doing this exercise without stopping. The clock tells the poet to be like it; it always keeps its hands moving up and down.
The poet got annoyed at the clock. He retorted back to him saying the clock should not boast about moving its hands. He replied to it that he too could move his hands like it. He showed him how he could move it.
The clock was wonderstruck at the poet’s reply. So each morning the poet and the clock keep looking at each other. The clock does its exercise by moving its hands; and the poet does the same.
