Proper and strict baggage scanning at entry points, both for arrivals and departures.

Ticket checking at entry and exit points. Different lines for reserved classes, unreserved classes and platform ticket holders. Waitlisted passengers need to show that their tickets are confirmed at the time of entry. This would reduce the passengers entering the platforms to much extent.

Barricading/fencing on both direction in which railway tracks entering the station. Also barricading both sides of platforms.

Also different entry points and security checks for railway staff.

Accessibility

Easy availability of wheelchairs for senior citizens and specially-abled person at entry points and platforms.

Small ramps that can be placed at the doors to facilitate movement of wheelchairs. Staff can be employed to guide those people.

Patterned flooring can be done to guide the visually challenged people to appropriate place.

Instead of stair escalator, flat escalator should be placed.

Passenger amenities

Clean washrooms, regularly maintained on each pair of platforms.

Proper parking facilities. Separate parking for cab vehicles.

Free, clean and reliable drinking water. Airports offer, why can’t railways?
