These terms are just for the name, this doesn't mean that their blood is actually warm and cold.

The animals which can regulate their body temperature are said to be warm blooded animals, like mammals and birds. The regulate their temperature through processes like perspiration and all.

The animals whose body temperature is dependent on the surroundings, like reptiles, and some mammals.

If the animal belongs to the category of mammalia, then it is warm blooded.
Whereas if it belongs to the category of Aves( birds), Pisces(fishes) , Amphibians(Amphibians) and finally reptilian(reptiles) , then it is cold blooded.
