Corruption has diluted the impact of India's economic progress.

India got independence in the year 1947. Since then country has made a lot of progress on its economic front and become 5th largest economy of the world. But stillIndia ranks 85th out of 180 countries of the world in Transparency International's Corruption Index 2022. Many countries like USA,China are far ahead than India. Corruption is the biggest obstacle in the way of becoming India a developed country. Corruption discourages investment in economic sectors. It results into lower GDP growth. Since 1992, when India became open economy from a closed one, corruption has been a major issue for the nation.
