In India, an enfield rifle caused first fire if independence. It was introduced by british and according the rumour spread was that grease covered on it was made from fat of cow and pig which was against religion of Muslims and Hindus. First war of independence in INDIA was fought in 1857 while Mangal Pandey who led war was hanged.
