Since ladakh lies to the north of thegreat himalayan ranges,it comes umder the rainshadow area of tha south west monsoons. The southwest monsoons reach the himalayam mountain and shed a lot of rainfall. Wen da winds cross over 2 ladakh ,dey become almost dry,hence no rainfall occurs
