Cultivation is dependent on the climate, season, and soil. Almost 85% of the world's jute cultivation is concentrated in the Ganges Delta. This fertile geographic region is shared by both Bangladesh and India (mainly West Bengal). China also has a dominating place in jute cultivation.
The jute is losing it's market in India because -
High grade plastic is more durable ,light weight and cheap than the normal jute. The jute production is dependent on seasonal cultivation,so the huge market demand of India isn't getting fulfilled by the jute.
