The field of study (organic or inorganic chemistry) includes the study of the properties and preparation of each of the following substances are:

(a) Chalk: The study of the properties and preparation of chalk belongs to organic chemistry. Chalk was organic in origin as in the beginning it was firmed from the outer coverings of dead organisms found in the sea and oceans. But, it is a form of an inorganic chemical compound CaCO3, calcium carbonate.

It is soft and has a fine texture and it can also be crushed easily.

(b) Aspirin: Study of aspirin comes under organic compounds of chemistry. This means that it contains carbon. It is also known as acetylsalicylate. They are derived from the organic compound salicylic acid.

(c) Plastics: Plastic is a polymer. It is derived from natural organic materials or compounds. So, the study of plastic is organic chemistry. They do not rust and have good transparency. And, they can easily be molded to any shape and size.

(d) Urea: Concerning the preparation and properties of urea, we can say that it is an organic compound. It is also known as carbamide. Natural urea is an organic fertilizer.
