An unbalanced force moves a stationary object.
Generally we apply muscular force to move an object but non-contact force like magnetic or electric force can also be used.
The force is applied depending upon the nature of the object.
But the pair of forces must be unbalanced ie. the net force shouldn't be zero to move a stationary object.
