ADDITIVE RATE OF CHANGE

Additive rate of change means you add the same number to the given value of x to get the corresponding value of y.

The equation is given by:

y = x + a

where:

a -  is the constant being added.

y - the dependent variable

x = the independent variable.

In our case a = 3

Thank you for asking this question. The graphs for this question are missing. If you have access to them, look at them in order to understand this query better.

The correct answer for this question is the first graph.

In order to find the additive rate of change we calculate the slope and the gradient of the graph.

And the formula which we use for it is as follows:

Slope = change in y - axis value / change in x-axis value

Point A (5,9) and point B(3,3) the gradient will be given by

m = (9-3) / (5-3) = 6/2 = 3

So the slope of the first graph is

Hence 1st graph is the correct answer for this question.
